Quick 13th July updates

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010
Sean is in ICU in Baton Rouge now. Although hospital is larger with more specialist staff it is a bit less personal with a less modern feel about the ward than the previous. Even for Caroline visiting is restrict to 3 x 30 min visits a day. Best place for him though, first operation later. James will be on Central News on Thursday evening we think, promoting the website and cause. If anyone has any ideas to raise more money and/or awareness our ears are open. I didn’t get to bed until gone midnight so when my alarm went off at 5am I was still very tired. We were ready to go at 6am, however found that the tyres ( tires) on both bikes were flat. They were not punctured; they probably just felt a bit like us, “deflated” Lol, seriously, I guess it must have been the heat? Apart from the tyres, it was a great start to the day, I received text message from Jon offering words of encouragement and also pledging £500 for our cancer charities, thanksRead More....

Great night at the Dirty Duck

Sunday, June 13th, 2010
Apart from the football result, it was a great night at the Dirty Duck.  The pub was packed and there was a queue up the street to get in, everyone coming to attend the Indie Shindig and support CycleAcrossAmercia2010.com. John (the Landlord) very kindly allowed the £2 entrance fee to go towards our fundraising and we raised over £814 on the door and another £50 from the sale of burgers. So a total of £864! Thank you to everyone who attended and gave so generously and wished us weRead More....
