Another good one, very pleased to say the least
It was also a fast one, the wind was on my side for a change and oh boy we were kicking.. 140miles in the bank and yet again a very happy boy, there wasn’t a great deal going on today as the roads were really really straight the only bends today were one’s that went up and down.
There was a small climb at the end of the day that went from 5000ft (ish) to 7500ft (ish) but I didn’t notice it (there might even be a tunnel there now) we decided to take a slight detour of the route, no reduction in mile of course but we couldn’t go past the door step of Roswell (unofficially alien landing site) and not pop in, we might get to see some aliens
I heard something a while ago and today it was going round in my head, I first heard it on a film called “Coach Carter” with Samuel Jackson. There is another version which I believe is the original. “Jackson” keeps asking a boy that wants to be part of the basket ball team what his deepest fear is and he cant answer it, he asks him a number of times and get no response then all of a sudden the boy stands in class and says.
“Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure, it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us, your playing small does not serve the world, there is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you, we were all meant to shine as children, its not just in some of us its in everyone and as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same, as we are liberated from our own fear our presents automatically liberates others..”
So its on to day 10 now, legs do feel a little like led but I’m getting stronger and stronger also when you’ve got the power I seem to be developing there’s always going to be a price to pay and I’m eyes its a very small one for the amount of satisfaction I get from the ride, helping other’s and hopefully encouraging a lot more people not just ride bikes but to help others at the same time.
I suppose theres a price to pay for everything you just have to decide if that price is worth paying.
I’m off lets see what day 10 will bring another 140 maybe??
