Day 7 Not Good

Day 7

The started off with a monster of a climb and I do mean monster as well, thankfully we were already half the way up it but I still had to go that bit more to 7400ft with the idea of getting to 9800ft by the end of the day this meant coming down from 7400ft to about 6300ft then back up again.

I was still in the grove from the day before so it went pretty well, Jonny met me in a layby at the top of the first climb, I found the perfect place for a coffee and to started to the days blog, you see at this point I’d never been so happy and so cold all at the same time but it didn’t matter I was feeling really good. According to the Garmin we were actually at 7600ft I was surrounded by trees, snow, amazing blue sky and it was really quite warm. On the way up I’d seen views like I’d never seen before, all I wanted to do was stand looking in amazement and share them with everybody I know.

After dinner it was time to move on, all was good and I was going well.. ok it was a little bit down hill but there was a good wind up there the day continued pretty ok until the sun started go behind the trees and it started to get really very very cold. I was fully clad with jacket and some good gloves but this didn’t help my day turned.

I still get a fair few problems with my fingers and toes when its cold, I know that most of us do but its a fact that most chemo patients loose the feeling in the fingers and toes when it gets cold, I’m not sure of the stats but its high. Some of my friends (and Jonny now) will be able to tell you that when my hands get cold they go complete white and I cant move them, the doctors have said that over time this will get better, time needs to move faster…

So by the time we’re found somewhere to park the RV close to where I’d stopped after dealing with it for as long as I could I really wasn’t in a very good mood, it took a long time to get fingers working again, I didn’t want to write anything else and really didn’t want to think about what the next day was going be like..

I up loaded some photos and found my bed.

Sorry
