Day 11 128miles in 5:32 BOOM BOOM

128.6miles in 5:32.44 average speed 23.2MPH…. BOOM!!!!!!!

I think I must of got on the wrong bike today, the one I got on had a motor!! oh yeah the motor was me. Either that I was so knacked that all I wanted to do was get off the bike so I got to where I was going as quick as possible..

To be honest I did get some assistance from the wind today but thats bike riding all it was doing was saying sorry for the first couple of days when I was dealing with a head wind. it wasn’t a full on tail wind it was kind of coming from the side and back so it wasn’t all cosy and we also had the first puncture of the trip. The wind couldn’t really make up its mind what it was doing but it helped, I made the most of it and had a great day.

I don’t think I’ll be pulling another one like tomorrow though, I might try take it easy see how the legs feel and see what the weathers like.. They do feel a bit tired first thing in the morning but give me ten on the bike and I’m off again, it helps that the bike is perfect at the moment, it took a couple of days get used to being on it so long and getting the set up spot on but I think we can safely say it is now. (touch wood)

Two things I really thought about today, first was my planned rest day in Austin (should be there in about 2 maybe 3 days, on target) well I’ve decided to sack it off!! Yeap thats right if I still feel good when I get there I’m going straight through.. Why would I do that?? Well.. When I decide that I wanted to ride across America, I said I could do it in 28 days with out rest days and I pretty much got laughed at, I was told I couldn’t do it, I got convinced that I should build in at least four rest days. So if I can ride across America in 28 days with out rest days I will.

When I was in hospital they told me I wouldn’t walk till after easter I walked a week before, they also told me it would take years to get back to any sort of physical fitness and I think Ill let you answer that

The second thing I was thinking about was when I get back after this is finished, what am I going to do. Theres a number of things I’d like to do and I might have to make a few sacrafices to make it happen but can safely say I’m ready to make them.

I really want to work with the promoting of cycling for charity, fitness and recovery. Id like to help people get into cycling, see more kids taking up for an early age, encourage them to take part in events show the freedom it can give. To me, I might be wrong but everybody I know that rides looks at life in a different way to everyone else, I defiantly know that the people you meet and become friends with whilst riding bikes will be the best people/friends you will ever meet, you can experience and see parts of the world you just wouldn’t see in any other light, parts cars just cant get to and things that just amaze you.

Id like to do some after dinner speaking, motivation, I enjoy raising money but id rather help others raise it by giving advice or attending there events. I just need to refine this and find out how I can make it work.

Day 12 tomorrow, lets have some more fun.
