I’m was just on my way home from Mauritius where I’d been having a well earned short break combine with one of my best friends weddings, it was a really very nice occasion and really good to see him so happy.
It’s really over stretched me but I couldn’t miss it! he was there all the time when I was in hospital and that’s without me even having to ask, I remember waking up from operations and he’d be sat buy my bed, he even spent christmas night & new year’s eve with me instead of going out because id off been on my own otherwise… that’s what you call a good friend, Congratulation Ross & Emma Turner love you mate!
I was just thinking about my next small adventure which is just over a week away. I’m meeting about 30 riders in a place called Bonneville, in the French Alps. Their all riding three peaks and finishing at the top of Alpe Dhuez on the 19th September, some of them are really pushing the limits to do this and I 100% take my hat off to them, I’m not sure some of them really know what it means to see them going to such efforts to help raise money for such a good cause (www.Macmillan.org.uk) but in advance “THANK YOU GUYS”
Because of their efforts I didn’t think it would fair of me to just rock up after the training I’ve done over the year, so I decided that id ride there to meet them after all we all know how much I love climbs.
They all fly on the 15th so I’m leaving on the 8th or 9th but I’m not 100% shore if I’m going to drive to Portsmouth then do 900 mile to met them or ride from the front door but either way I’ll be doing about 900mile before I see them. I think I’d rather just get to the mother land of cycling and enjoy the time there.
Whilst I’ve been away and while I’m sat here waiting for this 13hour flight to go by as quick as possible it’s been a good chance to take stock of what’s been going on, what I’ve done right, what I’ve done wrong, what I won’t be doing again but also a chance to think about what’s next. The school group talks, after dinner speaking, How i can incourage more people to do the things they dream off, How I might go about doing the next one or one’s
As for flying over South Africa then the Sahara desert that really doesnt help it makes me think “I wonder if I could???”
I want to make sure i can carry on doing this, making a difference to people’s lives, showing that recovery is possible and that’s not just for cancer patients, it covers a whole range of people and if you want achieve something you can.
One thing I would like to do before I go is thank everyone so much for everything, this time last year I was so lost I felt like I didn’t know anything anymore, I’m not sure I know a lot now but its defiantly more than I did last year so thank you. That’s everyone from the guy who stopped me in the street a couple of weeks ago to the Adidas, Trek and Zipvit it’s all because of you I’m doing what I am and I’m loving it.
THANK YOU.. X
