I suppose I should make the most of staying in bed, however the novelty has already worn off. It isn’t as good as it sounds, I already have bed sores from lying on my back for so long and for someone who is always on the go and doesn’t want to waste a moment I find it somewhat frustrating to say the least.
THE POSITIVES,
I have a catheda (tube attached to my penis) which means I do not need to leave my bed to go to the bathroom to pass urine.
I did get a bed bath by two lovely ladies, while a third watched and took my temperature
THE HIGHLIGHTS OF TODAY.
Got a visit from Ken, head of the local National Association of Realtors (Estate Agents) to say hi, offer assistance and take Caroline and kids out with his wife and kids.
I have been on “solid” food for the 1st time today, Caroline fed me lunch and Summer fed me dinner. Strange being fed by someone else. Their next fork load is ready before you have started even chewing the last fork load. And Summer seemed to think my mouth was bigger than it actually was. Was funny tough.
It was great to get a chance to read all my messages today (face book, blog, texts etc but no time for emails will do that tomorrow). I know people enjoy reading my blog and hearing about what I am up to, however I find reading comments other people make and hearing what they are up to facinating. There are so many great messages it makes what I am doing and going through worthwhile. It is also great to hear about all the fundraising events going on to help us reach our target. Thanks to everyone taking part and good luck to Gary Redman who will be leaving Newman’s office in Rugby at 9am on Tuesday morning to cycle 700 miles to Paris and back. He has already raised £7000 and hopes to raise £10,000!

Sean, your positive attitude and sense of humor are AMAZING. I am not allowed to bitch about any pain ever again, I’ve decided
Wow, that was a little bit like the suppositories story, far too much info but most facinating!
Glad your humour wasn’t injured. Looking forward to the next blog. x
A sense of humour in hospital is a valuable medicine! Just don’t hurt yourself laughing at Phil’s jokes!!
My fella had a catheter in for a bit once, when it came out he said that when he went to the loo it felt like he could jet wash the toilet bowl. Blokes in the pub toilet gasped in amazement at his unique skill of hitting the urinal from the toilet entrance! Something to look forward to?? Keep. Thinking positively, your doing great! All the best. X
chap with the cathata watch out for doctors when they come and ask how your sensation is to your Penis , and then tug on it immediately to see the reaction, gets me every bloody time i’m convinced they have a chart and who ever gets the most patiensts a day with that one doesn’t buy the beers
So sorry to hear of the accident. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.
Hi, Sean
didn’t know whether to post something or not, as you don’t know me. I used to be one of the Rod Waspe crew! Your office on the corner looked resplendant today, with posters & balloons all over the place & on the railings outside, to see Gary off, & also to attract lots of attention to your cause. I have folllowed youboth from the beginning – in fact I was the first to donate on James’ website!! (I believe so anyway!)
James’ story captured the imagination and admiration of loads of folk in Rugby – & now it’s even more poingnant that you – a well-known local – is going through this ordeal, & with such dignity & fortitude. Your fitness & strength will stand you in good stead. Hats off to you, Sean. You certainly did not deserve this, but you DO deserve the support of the whole town. Your collegues are pulling out all the stops to get to your goal of £100,000, & I for one am right behind you!
Little by little, your injuries will get better – in the meantime, keep smiling & blogging – we’re hanging on your every word!! Sorry this is sooo long!!
Best wishes, Heather Koumi
